Sheesh. That’s kind of the whole point… also it’s more likely to mean you _made_ (built) your bed, so any shortcuts or half-assing on your part comes back to you. Or even if it means you made tour bed (sheets), it still means you have to deal with it, it’s not like your part is suddenly overwith…
Yeah, I’m thinking it goes back to the good old days of making beds from corn husks and whatnot. Doesn’t really make any sense anymore, but luckily that won’t stop anyone from using it.
Dude, it never occurred to me that this idiom makes no sense at all. Why would you lie in your bed after you make it?
